Copper
Overview
The Copper integration lets your team find and manage Copper CRM records inside AskElephant. This article covers what you can do with Copper, who can set it up, how to connect it to your workspace, and how to use it in Chat.
What You Can Do with Copper
With Copper connected, you can:
Find records. Search Copper companies, people, opportunities, leads, and projects.
Review details. Open record details, pipelines, stages, and custom fields.
Make updates. Create or update Copper records.
Add notes. Attach notes to existing records.
Automate work. Trigger workflows when Copper records are created or updated. See the Automate Copper with Workflows article.
AskElephant reads current information from Copper when it is needed. It does not import or store a separate copy of your CRM.
Availability
The Copper integration is included on all AskElephant workspaces at no extra cost. A workspace Owner must connect it before the rest of the team can use it.
Before You Connect
You need the workspace Owner role, with permission to authorize Copper. Managers and Users can't open workspace settings, so they can't connect it. See Roles & Permissions.
Connect Copper
Open your workspace settings in AskElephant.
Select
Integrations.Find Copper and select
Connect.Sign in to Copper and approve access.
Return to AskElephant and confirm that Copper shows as
Connected.
The connection applies to your entire workspace.
Use Copper in Chat
Once a workspace Owner has connected Copper, anyone on the workspace can use it in Chat, whatever their role.
Open the Chat panel.
Click the
Toolsicon and toggle on Copper. You'll need to do this for each new chat.Ask for what you need in plain language.
Example prompts:
"Who is the primary contact at Acme Corp?"
"Show me all open opportunities over $50k"
"Create a new lead for Jane Smith at Widget Co"
"Update the status on the Acme deal to Proposal Sent"
"What projects are assigned to me this quarter?"
Changes are shown before they're made. When you ask AskElephant to create or update a record, it shows you exactly what it will change and waits for your confirmation before writing anything to Copper.
Reconnect or Disconnect Copper
If AskElephant can no longer reach Copper, the integration shows an option to reconnect or reauthorize it.
Disconnecting Copper removes Copper access for everyone in the workspace and stops any Copper-powered workflows.
Good to Know
Copper is connected at the workspace level, not per person.
Only workspace Owners can manage the connection.
You need an active Copper account with API access to connect.
AskElephant does not bulk-import or continuously copy Copper data. Changes made through AskElephant appear in Copper immediately.
Record deletion is not supported.
Copper field mapping and historical import controls are not available yet.
Copper is a web experience today. Dedicated mobile controls are not available.
