Dialpad

Overview

Connect Dialpad to AskElephant to automatically bring your Dialpad call recordings into your workspace. Once connected, new Dialpad calls are imported for transcription, AI summaries, signals, and Workflows, so your team can review and act on them in AskElephant.

Dialpad is a one-way connection: calls flow from Dialpad into AskElephant. AskElephant does not write anything back to Dialpad.

You can connect Dialpad at the workspace level for the whole team, and individual users can also connect their own personal Dialpad accounts.

Who It's For

  • Sales and support teams using Dialpad who want calls analyzed in AskElephant

  • RevOps teams managing call capture across multiple reps

Before You Begin

  • You need the workspace owner role in AskElephant to set up the workspace connection.

  • A Dialpad admin needs to approve the AskElephant Dialpad app.

How to Connect

Workspace connection

  1. Sign in as a workspace owner.

  2. Click your workspace name, then open Workspace Settings → Integrations.

  3. Find Dialpad and click Connect.

  4. Complete the Dialpad sign-in and approval in your browser.

  5. Return to AskElephant. The Integrations page refreshes when you come back to the tab.

Personal connection (optional)

Any user can connect their own Dialpad account to import their personal call recordings. Click your name in the top-right corner, then open Preferences → Connected accounts and connect Dialpad.

What Happens After You Connect

  • New Dialpad calls with recordings start importing automatically, usually within a few minutes of the call ending.

  • Imported calls appear in AskElephant like any other meeting, with a transcript, summary, and signals ready for review and Workflows.

  • Importing turns on automatically when you connect. There's no separate sync toggle to manage.

Importing Historical Calls

The connection brings in new calls going forward. If you need older Dialpad calls imported, contact the AskElephant team and we'll help plan the import. See Importing Call Recordings into AskElephant for the other ways to bring recordings in.

Troubleshooting

A Reconnect button appears. Your Dialpad sign-in expired. Click Reconnect to restore the connection (on the workspace connection or your personal one, whichever shows it).

A Re-authorize button appears. AskElephant needs updated permissions. Click Re-authorize and approve access.

Calls are arriving but slightly delayed. This is normal. Expect up to a few minutes for a new call to appear.

Dialpad still shows as connected after one person disconnects. Dialpad shows as connected if either the workspace connection or any personal connection is active.
