Copper with Workflows

Overview

Use Copper as a trigger or an action step in AskElephant workflows to automate CRM work. This article covers the two Copper building blocks: the Copper Trigger and the Copper Agent. Copper must be connected first. See the Get Started with Copper article.

Copper Trigger

A Copper Trigger starts a workflow when a Copper record is created or updated. Triggers can watch companies, people, opportunities, leads, or projects. For updates, you can optionally watch a specific Copper property and value.

Example automations:

  • New opportunity. Start a follow-up process when an opportunity is created.

  • Stage change. Notify a team when an opportunity changes stage.

  • New lead. Generate research when a lead is added.

  • Field change. Run an account summary when an important company field changes.

A workflow runs each time a qualifying event occurs, so the same record can start the workflow more than once.

Copper Agent

Add a Copper Agent step to a workflow to:

  • Find records. Search Copper CRM records.

  • Summarize context. Pull together relevant CRM context.

  • Create or update records. Write changes back to Copper.

  • Add notes. Attach notes to a record.

  • Use context. Draw on meeting, contact, company, or calendar information.
