Weekly Summary
Overview
This workflow automatically sends weekly summaries of recent meetings to team members via Slack. It runs on a schedule you define, gathers meetings from the past week involving specific people, creates an AI-powered summary of those meetings, and delivers the summary as a direct message.
Key Terms
Workflow: An automated sequence of actions that runs without manual intervention
Trigger: The event that starts the workflow (in this case, a schedule)
Conversation: An AI chat session in AskElephant that can analyze meetings and generate insights
Direct message: A private Slack message sent to one or more individuals
What This Workflow Does
This workflow helps you keep team members informed about recent meetings without manual effort.
The trigger
The workflow runs on a schedule (daily, weekly, or custom timing you configure). You choose when it runs and which team members receive summaries.
The actions
Identifies the target team members who should receive summaries
Searches for all meetings from the past 7 days involving those people
Creates a new AI conversation and attaches all those meetings to it
Asks the AI to generate a summary of the meetings based on your custom prompt
Sends the AI-generated summary as a direct Slack message to each person
The workflow processes each person individually, so everyone receives a personalized summary of their own meetings.

Configuration Tips
Adjusting the time range
The workflow currently searches meetings from the last 7 days. If you want a different timeframe, open the Search Past Meetings node and change the timeframe setting to options like LAST_3_DAYS, LAST_14_DAYS, or LAST_30_DAYS.
AI model selection
The workflow uses claude-haiku-4-5 by default (fast and effective). You can switch to a more powerful model like gpt-5.2 or claude-opus-4-5 in the Send Message to Conversation node if you need more sophisticated analysis.
Temperature control
The AI temperature is set to 0.7 (balanced creativity). Lower values (like 0.3) produce more consistent summaries; higher values (like 1.0) produce more varied responses.
Configuration | Effect | When to use |
|---|---|---|
Lower temperature (0.2-0.5) | Consistent, focused summaries | Weekly reports, executive updates |
Higher temperature (0.8-1.0) | Creative, varied language | Brainstorming summaries, idea generation |
Shorter timeframe (3-7 days) | More detailed, focused summaries | Active projects, sprint reviews |
Longer timeframe (14-30 days) | Broader overview, less detail | Monthly check-ins, quarterly reviews |
Optional Full Team Summary

Why This Workflow Is Useful
Save time on manual reporting
Instead of writing weekly meeting recaps by hand, the AI automatically generates summaries based on actual meeting content.
Keep distributed teams aligned
Remote team members who miss meetings stay informed without needing to watch recordings or read full transcripts.
Surface patterns and trends
Regular summaries help you spot recurring themes, decisions, or action items across multiple meetings that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Improve meeting accountability
When summaries are automatically shared, action items and commitments made during meetings are more visible and harder to forget.
This workflow is especially valuable for managers overseeing multiple projects, customer success teams tracking account health, or any team that runs frequent meetings and needs to share insights quickly.
Conclusion
This workflow transforms meeting data into actionable weekly summaries delivered directly to your team on a schedule you control. Once configured, it runs automatically without manual intervention, ensuring everyone stays informed about recent conversations.
