Overview
AskElephant workflows come with three powerful "send" nodes that let you share information, notify team members, and integrate with external tools. Whether you need to alert someone in Slack, send a direct email, or connect to another platform, these nodes help you extend your workflows beyond AskElephant and ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time.
All three send nodes are included with every AskElephant subscription, so you have immediate access to build more connected workflows.
The Three Send Nodes
Send Notification
The Send Notification node delivers alerts to your team members through their preferred communication channels—either Slack or email. Each team member receives notifications according to their individual notification preferences. This ensures notifications always reach your colleagues where they want them.
Configuration Options:
Configuration | Description |
Recipients | Choose who receives the notification |
Title | Add a subject or headline for the notification |
Message | Write the notification content |
Note: The Send Notification node doesn’t provide variable outputs. Its sole function is to deliver your message.
Send Email
The Send Email node is purpose-built for formal email communications with precision on who is included in each message. Use this node when you need full control over recipients, CC (carbon copy), and BCC (blind carbon copy) options.
Configuration Options:
Configuration | Description |
To | Specify the primary recipient (typically a team member or contact) |
CC | Add team members or contacts who should see the email |
BCC | Include recipients who get the email without others knowing |
Subject | Write the email subject line |
Body | Compose the content of your email |
Note: Like Send Notification, this node’s sole output is the delivery of the email itself.
Send Webhook
The Send Webhook node enables advanced integrations by sending an HTTP POST request to another platform or API. Use this node to connect your workflows with third-party tools, automation platforms, or custom systems.
Configuration Options:
Configuration | Description
URL | Enter the destination address for the webhook (any accepted URL)
Body | Define the data to send (supports plain text, JSON, or other formats)
Authorization Header | Name the authentication header required by the receiving system, if applicable
Authorization Value | Enter the credential value needed for authentication, if required |
Webhook Outputs:
- Status output: Reveals the delivery status of the webhook.
- Success output: Confirms whether the connection was successfully established.
Managing Your Send Nodes
You can manage nodes in your workflow by:
- Editing the name: Click the pencil icon next to the node to rename it.
- Deleting the node: Click the three dots menu and select delete.
