Overview
Integrations connect AskElephant to tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and Slack. Most problems follow predictable patterns and are easy to fix.
Key Terms
- Workspace Integration: Set up by your owner (applies to everyone)
- Personal Integration: Set up by you (only for you)
- Agent: The tool powered by an integration. Toggle it on to use it.
- Permissions: What AskElephant can do (read, write, create)
Two Types of Integration
Workspace-level (Your Name → Integrations):
- Set up once by your owner
- Available to everyone
Personal level (Your Name → Preferences → Connected Accounts):
- Each person sets up their own
The Problem: Integration Not Working
Step 1: Check both are connected if applicable.
- Your Name → Integrations (should show connected)
- Your Name → Preferences → Connected Accounts (should show connected)
Step 2: Toggle on the agent in chat
- Click the Tools icon (bottom left)
- Toggle ON the agent you need
- Do this for every new chat
Step 3: Test it
- Ask it a simple question
- If it says "no access," check permissions (see below)
- If it says data doesn't exist, check the other service directly
Step 4: Check permissions
- For HubSpot/Salesforce: Contact your CRM admin. Make sure AskElephant has Read and Write permission.
- For Slack: Add AskElephant to the specific channel you're using
Step 5: Reconnect if stuck
- Your Name → Preferences → Connected Accounts
- Disconnect and wait 30 seconds
- Reconnect and test again
Workflow + Integration Issues
Data isn't updating in HubSpot/Salesforce:
- Check Workflow History for errors
- Verify you have Write permission
- Verify the record exists in the CRM
- Verify all required fields are filled
Slack isn't sending messages:
- Make sure AskElephant is added to that channel
- Go to channel → Details → Integrations → Add AskElephant
Workflow fails at integration step:
- Check Workflow History for the error
- Most common: wrong permissions or data doesn't exist
Quick Fixes by Tool
HubSpot: Can't update data?
- Contact your HubSpot admin to grant Write permission to AskElephant
Salesforce: "Invalid_client_id" error?
- Disconnect (Preferences → Connected Accounts), wait 60 seconds, reconnect
Slack: Can't send to channels?
- Add AskElephant to the channel (Channel Details → Integrations → Add AskElephant)
Calendar: Won't connect?
- Disconnect and reconnect (Your Name → Preferences)
