Chat appears contextually throughout the platform, meeting you exactly where you're working.

Getting Started with AskElephant Chat
Where Chat Appears
AskElephant Chat isn't confined to one location. It appears in five key places across the platform, each providing different context:
- Standalone Chat (in your sidebar): The open-ended space where you can ask questions about anything—meetings, documents, general questions, or industry insights.
- Meeting Chat: When you click into a specific meeting, Chat is already there with that meeting's transcript as context.
- Company Chat: When viewing a company page, Chat has access to all meetings associated with that company.
- Contact Chat: When viewing a specific contact, Chat can reference interactions with that individual.
- Search Chat: After filtering meetings across multiple companies and contacts, you can create a custom Chat context with all those meetings at once.
How to Use AskElephant Chat
The Chat Interface Basics
When you open Chat, you'll see:
- Left Sidebar: A list of your past conversations. You can pin frequently used chats for quick access.
- Main Content Area: A large text box where you type your questions or requests.
- Bottom Toolbar: Several buttons that control how Chat works:
• Plus Button: Attach meetings, upload documents, or run workflows.
• Tools: Toggle integrations (HubSpot, web search, Notion, etc.) on or off.
• Model Selection: Choose which LLM powers your conversation.
• Enhanced Prompt: Let AI improve your question before sending it.
• Ask Button: Send your question (or press Enter).

What Are Tools & Agents?
Tools & agents connect Chat to the platforms where your business data lives. When you toggle a tool on, the AI gains the ability to search those spaces and pull relevant information into your conversation.
Common Tools & Agents You Can Use
HubSpot Agent: Search deals, opportunities, and company data. Ask about a specific client or recent sale.
Web Search: Access current information from the internet. Use this when you need the latest data or want to research a new topic.
Notion Agent: Create or reference pages and databases. Log meeting insights directly into Notion.
Monday / Asana: Pull information about active projects and team tasks.
Linear: Query bug reports and development updates.

Let's say you just closed a deal with a major client. You want details about the opportunity in HubSpot:
- Open AskElephant Chat.
- Click Tools and toggle on HubSpot Agent.

Attaching Context: Meetings and Documents
Bring Meetings Into Your Conversation
You don't need to manually copy meeting details. Instead:
- Click the Plus Button and select Attach Meetings.
- Search for the meeting(s) you want to reference.
- Select one or multiple meetings—Chat now has their transcripts as context.
Now you can ask Chat questions like:
- "What were the action items from this meeting?"
- "Who attended this call?"
- "Summarize the key discussion points."
- "Did the client mention any concerns?"
Upload Documents
You can also upload business documents (PDFs, Word docs, Excel files, PowerPoint presentations) directly into Chat. This is helpful when you want AI to analyze a proposal, compare documents, or extract specific information.

One of the most powerful uses for Chat is identifying when a customer relationship might be at risk.
Scenario: You onboard a new customer and feel concerned about engagement. Your last meeting felt different than previous ones, but you're not sure what changed.

- Go to the company's page and open Chat.
- Chat automatically has all meetings with this company as context.

- "I'm revenue-driven and want insights related to deal impact."
Once set, every Chat response will align with your preferences.
Running Workflows from Chat
If you have a workflow you use occasionally—not daily, but when the need arises—you can run it directly from Chat:
- Click the Plus Button and select Run Workflow.
- Choose the workflow you want to execute.
- Chat runs it and reports back with results.
This is ideal for tasks like sending a summary email of all company meetings or updating CRM records based on insights.
